Activate Nathaniel Kelly: Production Powerhouse

In the past couple weeks my long-time filmmaking collaborator, Nathaniel Kelly, has started (or rather, returned to) producing short and simple YouTube videos. He has made two of these new ones so far, and both were entirely shot and edited in the same afternoon. They're fairly simple and straightfoward, but that doesn't make them any less interesting and cool. And with both of us working on larger projects lately, it's always nice to remind yourself what you can create in a single afternoon.

Here are the two flicks! First one featuring yours truly.

A Wacky Short Story Podcast

Years ago, my mate Christopher Stennett started writing a short story every single week, and publishing them on his website These stories are very wacky and diverse and pretty unpredictable. And at this point, there are hundreds of them.

As an enormous fan of podcasts and audiobooks, I of course began to wonder if I could audio-ify them. Chris has accepted, Thomas Field has done up a jingle, and so every Monday I will be releasing an audio version of a story from Wait! What? Sorry.

Check out the first episode here:

I use a Chromebook

And I've recently made a few YouTube videos about it. The first has received a lot of attention. As in, like 5 times more attention than my next most popular original YouTube video. This is nice, but unexpected, and low-key stressful and daunting. In general, I'm thankful that audiences have been lovely (YouTubers are often & notoriously the worst).

It is still interesting how easily online audiences can take everything as a personal affront. Sure I enjoy Chromebooks, but I genuinely like all kinds of computers, and don't care what other people want to use. In the end they're all just slightly different tools. Some viewers have taken my videos about Chromebooks as a statement that everyone should use Chromebooks. Outrage is the opium of the internet.

Anyhow, here are the three videos:
